America and England. Such a long, crazy history we’ve had with each other. Sure there was that one really bad dust-up in the late 1700’s, and we sent that Werewolf to London in the 1980’s, but we’ve had a very useful relationship, too. For example, we’ll often send over our unknown musicians, you’ll go wild over them, give them back to us, and say, “Hey dummies, these guys are awesome, and they’re yours!” Like Jimi Hendrix, or the White Stripes. We’re still not sure what you did to Madonna…
This week’s artists are a prime example of this phenomenon. THE FEATURES are a very American band, much beloved in their home state of Tennessee. But they’ve found greater success in the U.K., gaining fans, winning awards, and earning glowing reviews from NME and The Guardian. Now it’s the rest of the world’s turn to catch on to their Southern-souled, blues-soaked power pop. When their musical compatriots Kings Of Leon started a new label with Bug Music, The Features were the first signing, and “Lions” the first single. So the band comes well recommended.

For every online game where you get 1st place — you get 1 contest point. The top two players that have the most contest points at the end of the contest win the grand prizes. The runners-up are the next 6 players with the most contest points.

I’m from Tennessee and have never heard of these guys before. I think they’re ok! I have a felling though that next week will be big because some rumors sugest so but I still don’t know what next week is. Hope it’s Weird Al or Celtic Thunder! (And by the way, Celtic Thunder is an example of Music from Europe becomeing more popular in the US. Their new CD comes out this February so check it out on Amazon, it’s not available for iTunes pre-order yet! It probably won’t be as sucsessful as their first 3 CD’s since it has a Classical theme to it but it’s still worth a shot!)

Tim, Ed, and whoever else at Tapulous who selects the music for TTR: Mmm, finally, some good old hard rock, Brit style. Love it!!! Two thumbs up! I’m going to let The Exies know that they need to visit Britside soon!
Thebitingcat: Those vinyl frisbees act very much like Xena’s “chakra wheels” when thrown properly. I have a former roommate who knows this firsthand. He has a small linear scar to show for it, and after that particular incident was more than a little afraid each time he saw me with an LP in hand.
Trekluver: Neither CT nor Weird Al have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting on TTR… UNLESS: You go to their respective official fanpages and ASK them to talk to Tapulous about being on the game. I suggest you do so. CT and Weird Al are awesome, it’s just that they probably don’t know about TTR, and besides, I don’t have the time to personally hound either of them about this as I’ve got other bands (and job/graduate school applications, ugh) I’m busy with at this time.
I personally love Weird Al, but the copyright issues could get REALLY thorny if any of his parodies were to be put on TTR……

Actually I allready contacted Weird Al on his blog. Obviously no response to me but I don’t know about Tapulous. As for Celtic Thunder, Ed and the team allready said they where open to it so mabye it will happen. Their record company is a subsidarry of Universal Recors which Tapulous deals with frequently it seams so the possability seams higher there.

@Trekluver: That’s pretty awesome that you’ve contacted Weird Al about being on TTR. I’m really sorry that neither he nor a spokesman has been able to get back to you about the matter. I thought he was more responsive to his fans, but I guess I formed that opinion 10 years ago when Running With Scissors came out. The issue might have to do with the fact that most of his songs are parodies and have inherent copyright issues (he may still have PTSD from the Coolio “Amish Paradise” incident in 1996 XD). I’m also happy that you’ve been able to converse w/Ed about getting CT on TTR. I know, however, that Universal Records (being as big-name as they are) will be difficult to deal with, but I hope that Ed and Tim find it worthwhile to get that band on here.

Well I contacted him via a post on his blog if that counts.
If you want to you can send his web site staff an email. I don’t remember the address but you should be able to find it on weirdal.com. I think Tapulous does a fine job with Universal Records since they have Lady Gaga and others. Plus last I heard Tapulous has an exclusive licenceing deal with them to sell their music in the TTR store so it may happen. I also want Trans-Siberian Orchestra but since Christmas is over mabye it will happen next December.

Actually I believe that as a track pack but not a full game. I think Tapulous would be out of their minds there! I also believe the Taylor Swift because Krohn7master purposely posted a picture of it on twinkle. He posted the springboard icon but that’s all. He don’t just go photoshop stuff like that to my knowledge.

I already had “Lions” so not sure why it’s a supposed double pack. Also the contest in my opinion was a horrible choice–your online mode is riddled with low framerate issues for anyone not on a 3GS. You are basically giving one group of people a upper hand.

Probably not for a while. I would know because I won a different electric guitar in a TTT contest a looooooooong time ago. Prizes won’t come for much longer than you would expect. Just be patient.
