Tap Tap Thursday Presents: Robbie Williams – Bodies by Ed

December 10th, 2009

Robbie Williams - Reality Killed the Video Star

The Man: ROBBIE WILLIAMS

The FREE TRACK: BODIES from the new album “Reality Killed The Video Star.” Remix by U.K. dance wizards CAHILL

Here we are in December 2009. The end of the decade. Congrats everyone, we’re almost out of the “Aughts.” Or the “Naughties,” depending how it went for you. I’ve got a feeling everyone is ready to blast out of the last 10 years in a serious way, which means this New Year’s Eve is going to be BIG. Therefore, it is very, very important you look good this coming 31st. And the way to make that happen is…
THE TAP TAP “BODIES” WORKOUT!

STEP 1: Download this week’s track, Robbie Williams’ “Bodies.”
STEP 2: Suit up properly. To achieve maximum exercise potential, Spandex is crucial. Tights, leotard, long sleeves, all in different colors. Top it off with a neon green headband and mirrored aviator shades. This is a unisex uniform.
STEP 3: Start the track.
STEP 4: Left rail tappers are high kicks. Center rail tappers are knee lifts. Right rail tappers are squats. On a shake, push your booty out in that direction.
STEP 5: Repeat until you look good, or pass out.

Robbie Williams sings in this week’s track, “All we’ve ever wanted is to look good naked,” and with the remix skills of Cahill, we now have the song to achieve that goal. With “Bodies,” Robbie has come back swinging, with a flowing, intense song that has topped charts around the world. Despite his jaw-dropping achievements (#1 selling British solo artist of all time, most BRIT Award wins in history, and the UK Music Hall of Fame’s Artist of the 90’s), Robbie Williams remains charmingly aware of his role as performer, and continues to give us innovative and engaging music.

Get this week’s FREE track in the Tap Tap Store, and don’t forget to check out the Robbie Williams 2-pack with “Let Me Entertain You,” and “Angels.” Roll by robbiewilliams.com for all the news on the big man. And peek through the window at Tapulous HQ if you want to see Andrew leading the a.m. Tap Tap Bodies Workout. We are definitely getting results down here!

THE ROBBIE WILLIAMS CONTEST

Did you know Robbie Williams’ song “Angels” was the #1 karaoke song of 2008? Did you know during his time off in 2007-08, Robbie became heavily involved in UFO research, including a trip to an alien conference in the Nevada desert? Did you know he is in the Guinness Book of World Records for selling 1.6 million tickets to his 2006 tour in a single day?

None of this has anything to do with this week’s contest. They’re just cool Robbie Williams facts. Now, onto the contest!

The loot: Five winners get a nice crisp envelope in the mail that contains Robbie Williams’ latest album Reality Killed the Video Star, and the Live At The Albert DVD. One Grand Prize winner gets that and the rest of the Robbie Williams catalog! That’s Intensive Care, Escapology, Sing When You’re Winning, (deep breath…) I’ve Been Expecting You, and Life Through A Lens.

How to win: It’s a BUZZ contest! After playing ANY Robbie Williams track in Tap Tap Revenge 3, hit the buzz tab and rate the song. You get one entry for each song you rate. You can buzz the songs anytime from Thursday, December 10th through Monday, December 14th. You must buzz the track in Tap Tap Revenge 3, while online, for entry into the contest.

    Track: really didn’t care for it. The censor bleep isn’t winning you any merit points, it’s the most annoying sound in the world. Suggestion: Just use the karaoke trick of mixing that part of the track with only the audio that plays in either channel but not both. Most lyrics are mixed evenly on both stereo channels so omitting anything that plays in both channels leaves only the accompanyment.
    Theme: sure, practically it looks nice, but I don’t want to stare at an orangish-pink image of a guy on a bike while tapping. Plan on swapping to either TTRDJ, Dance, or Ultra in the near future.
    Contest: so in order to have more than one entry I have to shell out some cash? Well, at least you are encouraging a revenue flow and making it fair to Touch users with desynch.
    Workout: don’t try on Extreme.

  2. WOW! Nice!

    The theme isn’t bad. The TapTrack absolutely rocked!

    The song itself is okay, which makes it lackluster compared to TTR2’s and some of TTR3’s earlier material.

    I can confidently say that Tapulous has had much better material shoved right into their advertising inbox and that the ravenous fanbase that developed from TTR and TTR2 is going to erode as song quality goes down, gamers have to pay more, and bands who want to be featured (and/or are fan-requested) are totally ignored.

  4. Every week, somebody complains that they’re getting something for free. I just don’t get it.

    This song would have cost you $1 on iTunes, but instead you get it for free, with a theme, in Tap Tap. AAAND the song is pretty good! He’s a freaking #1 artist!

    What’s the problem? Why can’t you be happy that a company like this exists? And they’re not charging $10 or a fixed number of songs like rockband… with no new content, ever?

    Given, I wanted some RCHP, Metallica, Whitesnake… The DID metallica give them time!!

    @WTF:

    I actually don’t feel that everyything w/TTR3 is bad. TTR3 is still really a good game. However, IMO, going value for entertainment, it’s not as good as TTR2. That’s just me of course, and I have to acknowledge that TTR3 does have some improvements over previous TTRs.

    In fact, I absolutely loved seeing Metallica’s “Fuel” for free (though I wish they instead had the S&M — Symphony&Metallica that is — version instead). I was happy with seeing FFDP, the Foo Fighters, and AFI (the latter two I actually did purchase paid track packs for… and they were good values I feel). I grew up paying $200 for game systems and $70 apiece for 16-bit games that weren’t nearly this cool, so I understand the general point that TTR3 does represent a good value.

    I’m just comparing TTR3’s potential to that of TTR2. It was possible that TTR and TTR2 were unprofitable testing incubators for this kind of music-based game model, but I’ll leave that up to Tapulous to talk about.

    TTR3, though, IMHO — still has a long way to go if the TTR series wants to keep up the rep it had in TTR/TTR2. Note that not only is the social network on TTR3 important, but gamers’ general opinion on TTR3 has to be favorable for anything social to work out right.

  6. I like it ok. I LOVE the theme; when I saw it I almost couldn’t believe it was Tap Tap Revenge! Awesome work on that guys! As for the lyrics, thanks for the censor bleep because I have read many parents on the forums say they didn’t like bad lyrics. (I’m under 20 and don’t really care myself!) One thing I don’t like about the lyrics is that it makes strange yet confusing contrasts and comparisons to my religon. I know religon shouldn’t be the main talk around here but it is an important thing to note as the lyrics are strange and are almost a pro/anti-christianity hybrid! So here’s the low down: Theme: 10/10-Track: 8/10-Lyrics: 5/10 (I wish to remain neutral on the lyrics.) Thanks Tapulous!

    @Trekluver:

    Driving this slightly (well ok not really) off-topic, my interpretation to the lyrics is that having a perfect physical body is outside the realm of Christianity/Jesus and that striving for one is selfish/sinful, so I do think the lyrics are compatible with Christian values, but that is my interpretation. I can’t criticize TTR3 and Tapulous for featuring a song that undermines an important religion because in this case, I do not feel that this song undermines Christianity despite its frequent mentions of Jesus. (Although, “Fuel” by Metallica… if you really think about what its lyrics mean… that song’s not so moral… hehe).

    The song otherwise is okay, I liked the similar “Keep Up” by HyperCrush a lot better (the one they put out last week), but if you think about it, even though it doesn’t have expletives or mention Jesus, there are parts that can be interpreted to be against the morals of many.

  8. @anotherindigo

    I think you are 25% right. First I don’t see why he would meke refrences to Jesus unless it had a meaning but that’s just me. Also I need to see what the whole Fuel thing is because I can’t understand what they say anyways! TOL!

  14. @Mattster

    This is stuf we’ve allready seen but Why would they let you do that? Oh and by the way I know about TSRevenge!

  15. @Trekluver

    @WTF: LOL! Try looking up Fuel’s lyrics. You’d be amazed.

    n.b., Ed@Tapulous: Looks like the reply Krohn made — the one my above reply is back to — got deleted/edited. If you want, you can delete my reply to him (above).

  17. AnotherIndigo – Np. His was deleted for language.

    [@WTF: I directed that "Fuel" lyrics comment @Trekluve and not you, but my opinion on Fuel's lyrics still stands, hehe.]

  19. @AnotherIndigo

    I see! Fuel’s lyrics are a bit bad aren’t they? Anyway I deleted Bodies because I didn’t agree with what it said. The meaning is: A human body is mad because Jesus died for the soul and not the body so the body wants perfection instead of death. Esentially I get that Robbie Williams loves his body!(Strangely Gross!)

    @Ed

    Is there any chance of Trans-Siberian Orchestra before Christmas? I hope so! Also, checkout my post on taptaprevenge.com about Taylor Swift Revenge! (yes it was leaked, and several people found out about it!)

  20. @Joey Wong

    What is the topic link? I can’t find it…

  21. Ok I saw it. Yea just check the one out at taptaprevenge.com!

  22. AnotherIndigo
    December 12th, 2009

    @Trekluver: The interpretation to the song is open, and your opinion of it with respect to Christianity will be subject to your interpretation of how much the physical body, exactly, is required for one to engage in being Christian/engaging in similar value/moral systems. So, I think your interpretation is fair and valid. Not sure if that made sense, I think I spent too much time writing stuff about that kind of stuff back in college and discussing it with my pastor too, and just beware in general if you find long words coming out my mouth. :-X

    Anyways, I second you on seeing TSO on here for the holiday season. I’d also like to see Metallica’s annual cover of the Christmas carol “Carol of the Bells” on it… I’ll be writing more in the requests thread.

  23. @anotherindigo

    Check out my thread under forums/taptaprevenge3 on taptaprevenge.com. Post it there too! I think this game has been Metallica’d out! But on the up-side Trans-Siberian Orchestra also has Carol of the Bells but instead it’s called Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24. It’s awesome! T-SO is probably the most requested Christmas music for this game and that’s almost certain. Cross your fingers!

  24. @anotherindigo

    I also agree on the interpritation. I think that the closest is that the guy wants his body to be immortal but since Jesus didn’t die for the phisical body he’s kinda bummed out! ;) Anyway it’s most definantly open because there isn’t a definante meaning and I think it was ment to be that way.

  25. @anotherindigo

    Actually I just found out that what you are calling Metallica’s Carol of The Bells is actually Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24. Surpriseingly it’s commonly confused. (I google searched this) So now it looks like bunches of people whnt Trans-Siberian Orchestra! Woohooo!

    @Trekluver: Where there is a will, there is a way. Why wait for Tapulous?
    Also, regarding Bodies: it’s a song. Unless the lyrics are “Kill your family! Kill your family! Kill your family!” you should probably just roll with it and forget all about how it may or may not be potentially offensive to your religion or interpretation of it. People who get offended by trivial experiences have too much time on their hands.

    LOL, I actually did the workout. My leg kind of hurts right now from the squatting. I think I stretched a ligament too far. Oh well. :)

    December 14th, 2009

    Trekluver: Did not know about that Carol of the Bells/TSO thing!! Guess I learn something new every day(TM). Hehe. Well, here’s to having some TSO on TTR3 this holiday season!

  29. @Anotherindigo

    Here here!!! To TSO for TTR3!!! TSO forever!!! Check it out and tell me if the song that I’m talking about by TSO is what you are talking about but I’m almost 100% sure it is! If so then I guess TSO is absolutely the no#1 most requested Christmas music for TTR3! Woohoo!

    @thebittingcat

    That sounds like emo! Plus you really don’t need to be posting stuf like that here since kids read it. Keep the blog clean dude!(no language either!) Anyway I would never finish the song if it was that. Then I would sue Tapulous for rediculous lyrics in a game for minors! Then I would buy the rights to the taptapseries and then make Celtic Thunder Revenge! (Just a fantasy! ;) Ok mabye not but I can dream of Celtic Thunder Revenge!

    @Tapulous

    Celtic Thunder’s 4th CD comes out February 2nd so you all might want to be on it for TTR3! Oh and TSO please!!!!!!!!!! Oh and Weird Al PLEASE!!!! Ok I’m done begging, begging never got anyone anywhere but it’s always worth a shot! ;)

Add your two cents!
