***UPDATE 6:30 AM Tuesday: Overnight last night, Online play was once again made available to players. We’ll be monitoring systems very closely today (as always), and provided the rest of our services remain undiminished, Online will stay available. We also have a plan in place for replacing one very key piece of our infrastructure today, for a big boost in capacity; more information about when exactly that will happen will be published here later. Keep tapping, and thanks for bearing with us through these growing pains!***
***UPDATE 10:45 AM Sunday: It’s been a huge weekend for us so far. So huge, the systems we usually have in place to measure all the many ways in which things can be huge have been temporarily repurposed to do other things, and so we’ll know exact, and very cool, data about how huge only after it’s all over. The good news is, we’ve kept services up and responsive for the whole weekend, with only a momentary (under a minute or two) hiccup a couple of times. We’re working today to bring Online back, and expect to be able to accomplish that in the next 24-36 hours. Meanwhile, thank you all for your patience and understanding, and keep tapping; it’s really inspiring to us to see the incredible amount of traffic flowing through our servers!***
***UPDATE: 11:30AM Friday: Well, we just got the data in. In the last 24 hours more than 300,000 new users have installed Tap Tap Revenge 3. That’s the biggest number we’ve ever seen in 24 hours. Our servers are handling the traffic really well today, so far at least. But we are keeping ONLINE PLAY turned OFF for the time being. We’ll provide another update later today.***
The launch of the free version of Tap Tap Revenge 3 has gone very well overall – we are currently #1 in a number of countries, and already at #2 in the United States, in just over a day.
But the flood of new users coming online and the network activity that is causing has caused major performance issues today. Our team is hard at work dealing with those issues (while trying to carve out bits of time to spend with our families on this holiday evening). Things are looking a bit better, and we’ll be making continuous adjustments along with bringing additional servers online in the coming hours.
Meanwhile, we have temporarily disabled the Online play mode, to reduce the overall burden on our network. We hope to bring Online back shortly, but it could be down for several days. In fact, if network traffic continous to increase, we may take additional measure to improve the reliability of our overall system.
We will update this blog post with periodic updates as our network status evolves.
Apologies for the hiccups – but keep on tapping and we hope you enjoy the many many features that are working great tonight, as well as the awesome new music in the game. For example, tonight, we released Lady Gaga’s hot new single Bad Romance in our Tap Store!

Ok I am frustrated still. Please please please please please Tapulous, please fix my in game credit. I want to get Bad Romance but it won’t let me because the 2 track pack credit thing is still messed up. Please fix it for me because right now it said I am minus 199 credits so that’s a major bug. Thanks in advance. Also the no free track this week thing is uncool.

Hey guys — just posting here to back up what Bart said a little bit. I’m at the helm for engineering right now, and want to make sure you all know that we’re essentially working around the clock to try to get things back up and stable for you. We definitely know about the Ultimate Tapdown, and really want to get online back and available for you for that. We’re trying as hard as we can, I promise!

Thanks for the update Bart! Your continued effort is much appreciated but please don’t overdo youself on this holiday. Enjoy the day with your loved ones and worry about TTR when you have the time! Also, for those of you thinking the Ultimate Tapdown is out of business, Tapulous controls every aspect of gameplay and could very easily postpone it. It’s not as if it was something that HAD to open now. Chill.

@Chardonnay: Use Safari, no scrolling inside TTR’s viewer.
@Bart: You have a serious bad timing issue with these updates – 3.0.1 right before Ultimate Tapdown began, breaking Touch users until just a week ago, not to mention a disadvantage at World Tour plays; Free release right before a major holiday where virtually everyone has the day off and will have some opportunity to play, without fully considering the bump in server load this would cause, not to mention throwing off the tapdown final schedule (most likely, unless you believe the load will go down or the capacity increases before tomorrow.) Hopefully in the future you will plan your tournaments for after a more stable release, as anything else would be illegitimizing the results of said tournament.

Premium tracks I get. Premium avatar item I’d get (have you done this?), but pay-for-weapons upsets the balance of the game.
The idea of the game is who is the most skilled at bashing buttons in time. That will be skewed with a bias towards paying customers.

I hope you guys remove the “wipeout” weapon which causes the screen go black out, seriously even the greatest tapper can’t even dodge that one compare to a bomb or hyperspeed. And please put pistons of Power back to coins it took me countless hours to reach 490k coins and now for the price of $5? The least you can do is to make it like $20 or purchase with coins(as an option)

My lvl n coins got resetted to d same everytime I restarted ttr3, no matter how much I play, this is depressing, anyway this can be compensated? I was at lv12 and now I’m stucked at 11 with 20k coins gone, I have screenshots to prove it too.

My level and coins got reset as well. If you go to my stats screen it says I’m level 7, but the main screen says I’m level 1 with no coins. I hope this gets fixed REALLY quickly. I got the app for free, but spent at least $15 so far on track packs in the 3 days I’ve owned the app.

Any particular reason why our level and coin and experience keeps rolling back? I have to keep closing and opening the program until it displays my level and coin properly. And why aren’t the credits displaying properly after downloading, installing AND booting the program to receive credit?

You guys really should do a review of the logistics of your game. My largest grievance at the current time is the wipeout weapon, it without question upsets the balance of the game. If you’re not going to remove it then you at least need to rework it to give the player SOME chance of continuing to hit notes other than the ludicrous idea of memorizing a song. I don’t want to sound like a demanding jerk, but that weapon is too mercurial of an element to be in this game. (Especially when its limited by how well funded you are IRL.)
