No sleep for the restless! Yesterday the Dave Matthews Band edition of Tap Tap Revenge was released to rave reviews (five stars on the App Store – check out coverage on Venturebeat). Today we’re at it again.

We’re delighted to introduce Tap Tap Revenge 2.5, featuring:
- Custom themes! Each song can now have its own theme. To start off, we’re making custom themes available for a half dozen of our most popular free tracks, including tracks by All-American Rejects, Pitbull, Coldplay, and Daft Punk
- Importing of premium content into Tap Tap Revenge 2.5. If you’ve purchased the special editions with Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails or Tap Tap Dance, you can now import those tracks into the free game, complete with their themes (not the boss themes just yet)
- More and better music than ever! We’ve recently added smash hits by Pitbull, Coldplay, All-American Rejects, Matt Nathanson, Depeche Mode and many many more – all free. Not to mention the premium editions!
- A fresh new look for the default theme. It’s fun, clean, and tells you how you’re doing. Green = Great (blue’s OK, orange not so good)
- Points & battles: Check out the improved feed (just below the big featured button), where you can now achieve new Levels as you rack up points for each game you play. Challenge the community to Battles!
- Performance and stability improvements, more reliable online play. We think you’ll find the new version is noticeably faster and crashes rarely if at all. And online play should work better.
Stay tuned for the Grand Finale of Tappers’ Idol 2 – coming in just a few days!
As you’ve probably figured out by now, there’s always something happening in Tap Tap Revenge: there are prize tournaments almost every day, hot new featured tracks each week, battles and chat rooms. So make sure to check it out frequently.
How do we do it? Check out our star team. We have brought together a truly amazing group with the most talented engineers you’ll find anywhere (folks out of Apple, people from the broader Mac developer community), deep roots in the social web, kick-butt designers, a knowledge of the music industry, and a passion for community. And sleep is optional. Bentley bites anyone who leaves before midnight.
How else do we do it? Because we get pumped when we watch a million scores come in every day and get awesome feedback from you- the gamers!
Much love. Tap on.

Very nice job, guys! But I’m wondering: If we have some premium apps, how do we import songs?
May 22nd, 2009
Loving the update! The game has yet to crash
The last version tended to lag sometimes too but I haven’t had that issue with the update. I still feel like it doesn’t register some notes when I was sure I tapped them, but the problem is much less frequent.

@snowy2004 : to import songs for your others Tap Tap apps, go to download section .
And again, thank you tapulous for great job .
May 23rd, 2009
Thankyou for the amazing updates, guys
One thing though, the game is letting me download the DMB tracks, even though I have not yet purchased the DMB premium app. Just thought you guys might want to do something to fix that, if the same thing is happening with everybody else
May 23rd, 2009
@Autsen – our way of saying thanks to the community! Just kidding – fixed.
May 23rd, 2009
I love it!
I’ve been playing it all day and I cant stop.
I’m just wondering about the premium songs and the themes. Theres something under music for premium songs but when i click on it, it just diverts me to the app store.
Thanks for the upgrade, Mitch.
May 23rd, 2009
@mitch: If you buy those premium games (Dance, Coldplay, NIN etc) on the App Store, then the next time you come into TTR2.5 you’ll see those tracks listed as available for download.
May 23rd, 2009
Good job, I think the update rocks!
So, TTR Paramore is next, right? LOL
May 23rd, 2009
Hehe, there needs to be a TTR Symphonic Edition. Get some good ol’ retro tunes XD
May 23rd, 2009
Good job, I love the new style!
But I can’t import any of my premium apps … Do I need to reinstall them? Because when I’m referred to the App Store, it says “Installed” (And I have them installed ^^), but the songs do not appear in-game …
May 23rd, 2009
@Hoazl
When you have any of the premium apps installed you should be able to go to “Free Tracks” –> “New Music” –> scroll down to the bottom and you should see the name of the premium app you have (”Tap Tap Dance” for example).
I was also confused at first.
May 23rd, 2009
@Palfince
You’re right, thank you! This is really kinda confusing ^^

Just a brief question: Is Christmas With Weezer importable?
Another off-topic question: Are there any songs (included or downloadable) that are in TTR1 but not in 2?
May 23rd, 2009
this is absoulutly great tapulous, you made it, you REALLY MADE IT…
god, i may be in love with tapulous… and the best thing is that every imported song has it’s own leaderboard, so, fucking awesome, hell yeah!!!
this is the best thing tapulous has made… really, (my favourite tap tap, not for the band, but the performance and themes etc, was colplay, but tap tap revenge 2.5 is even better)
GREAT TAPÙLOUS CONGRATS
May 23rd, 2009
i have purchased all of the premium applications and all show in the download list but the new DMB does not????
what do i do???
May 23rd, 2009
Great Job with the TTR 2.5!!!!!!!!!!
But I’m still waiting for a “Play Again” button
May 23rd, 2009
Honestly, I don’t like this new theme that much. The previous theme was just gorgeous. It seems like this theme is too oriented for a specific genre; more “retro-videogame” than “rock-out-dance-your-pants-off-rhythm-game”. It would be great to be able to choose between themes.
On a positive note, I love how you can import songs from premium Tap Tap apps, and how there can be specific themes for songs. Love that. TTR has traveled quite a ways from how it used to be. For the most part, I love where it’s headed. Like these “Tapulous Points”. I just can’t wait to see where that goes. The theme… we’ll see.
May 23rd, 2009
It looks like a space combat theme/interface… But hey, I can still tap for free! I just hope you guys don’t start nickel and diming us for individual new songs unless it is like the premium content you’ve been releasing. ^_^
I’d really like to be able to play the boss themes from Tap Tap Dance as well, but the way you have it right now is fine I think ^_^, I can start removing all these Tap Tap icons from my springboard.

Is anyone else having problems with the “shakes” being a little harder/stiffer? I’m afraid I’m going to end up throwing my iPhone! Is there a way to get them a little more sensitive to the motion of the device?
May 24th, 2009
@TXcougar, Hmmm… I haven’t had any problems with that… But something else: they do seem to give me different amounts of points, even when I hit them exactly similar to how I shake them normally…

What the heck, I just found this:
“But Tapulous is going to face one major obstacle along the way: microtransactions are only going to be supported for paid applications on the App Store, and the flagship TTR games have always been free. Which means Tapulous will have to find a way to convince its millions of users to cough up 99 cents for TTR3.”.
Also, on the same page it says that Tapulous develops for Android too, but that isn’t true, right?

awesome update, no lagg, looks better … still not sure about the streak stuff though… I think there should be a replay button aswell.
There should also be the option to play with the device horizontal.
May 25th, 2009
Horizontal?! Why?
May 25th, 2009
I really like the color coding for the taps! But yeah, i would want a way to choose between the 2 and 2. 5 background, and maybe even 1 and 1.5 for the really retro people!? Besides that, i think the lists are getting too cluttered, especially with all the NIN songs at the beginning, maybe a seperete folder on the song selection page to choose the premium versions and the themed songs would be a good idea. Oh, and also weezer too please!
I like the way you guys are heading, it just seems like you added too many features at once and all the screws still need to be tightened a bit! Remember, people like their change slow.
May 26th, 2009
Hey, love the update. Question for you though. I’ll assume that if I delete the app, my level associated with my profile stays the same if I reinstall. But what happens to top scores? Are they saved in the cloud as well?
May 26th, 2009
Any chance we can import old high scores from the premium apps into 2.5?
May 27th, 2009
I love the new look. It makes me more addicted to the game damn it.
Stop this or I’ll spend all my days playing Tap Tap Revenge. ^^
Good job guys. Hope the next updates will kick ass as this one.
May 28th, 2009
I HATE the new look. It looks like a ET theme.
Please, Tapulous, let the people import the songs of cracked aps too! Like cracked apps of Tap Tap Dance, Tap Tap Coldplay, etc! I will be forced to see the archives of my iPhone to do this?
May 28th, 2009
Spartakus – If you want to import the songs and themes from our premium editions – you must purchase the apps!
May 31st, 2009
Love the game. Just found the All that Remains track, and am hoping for more from them and their Genre, u have a lot of alternate, not enough hard rock. Some songs i would really like to see are:
This Calling — All that Remains
Whispers in the Dark — Skillet
Death of Me — Red
The Sound of Truth — As I lay Dying
Puppet — Thousand Foot Krutch
I would so totally buy any premium additions made for any of those bands, the ones u have now i just dont like that much.
