We are proud to announce the latest and greatest addition to the Tap Tap Revenge series, TAP TAP REVENGE: COLDPLAY EDITION.

We have teamed up with international best-selling recording artists COLDPLAY to create this new game which features 11 smash hits drawn from Coldplay’s multi-platinum career. And in combining the band behind “Viva La Vida,” the #1 selling digital album in SoundScan history, with Tap Tap Revenge, the #1 most-installed app on the App Store according to comScore, we like to think that we’ve created the definitive music gaming experience for the iPhone and iPod touch.

In creating this special edition of Tap Tap Revenge, we’ve worked hard to create a look and feel and a set of tap tracks that capture the energy, emotion and inspiration of Coldplay’s music and continue to push the Tap Tap Revenge experience forward. It’s Tap Tap Revenge, but it’s much more:

- A beautiful new default theme to match Coldplay’s music that we’ve customized for each of the Coldplay albums featured in the game;
- Four addictive difficulty levels, with unlockable boss levels on each. The boss tracks have been specially designed for each of the tracks, and offer an even more immersive experience;
- Superior stability, multi-player mode, enhanced visual effects, a Coldplay news feed, and Facebook Connect to flaunt your scores to the world;
- 10 of Coldplay’s greatest hits, including Viva La Vida, a remix of Lovers In Japan, Yellow, Clocks, and Speed of Sound. To top it off, the game includes a Thin White Duke remix of Viva La Vida that you won’t find on iTunes.

With 7 Grammy wins racked up over the course of 4 albums, millions of copies sold around the world, and legions of fans, Coldplay has emerged as one of the pre-eminent talents bands of the day. Get up close and personal with their hits in Tap Tap Revenge before they come to your town on a massive 40 city tour of North America. This is the closest you can get to the music without squeezing your way to the front of the stage.

Don’t just listen to Coldplay’s music, play it.

Tap Tap Revenge: Coldplay Edition is available now on the App Store for $4.99 in the US, and similar prices elsewhere around the world.

We are pleased to announce that, for the launch of the ColdPlay Edition, we have partnered with iLike, the Web’s leading social music discovery service and the dominant music application on the Facebook®, Orkut, hi5 and Bebo platforms. Check out the ads and promotions throughout iLike.com and on the iLike Facebook app!

The Tap Tap Revenge: Coldplay Edition Contest

To celebrate the monumental launch of our greatest achievement yet, we are announcing the Coldplay Edition Contest. The guys of Coldplay gave us some fabulous prizes…

Daily prizes. Starting things off, each day for the next 30 days, one Tap Tap Revenge: Coldplay Edition player will win the entire Coldplay catalog which includes the Viva La Vida/Prospekt’s March special edition CD, Live 2003 CD/DVD, A Rush of Blood To The Head, X&Y, and Parachutes. To qualify you need to be skilled. Your goal in this contest to get as close as you can to the target score: 302,000 points. Winners will be drawn from the 100 closest players to 302,000 points for any completed song, including ties, in Tap Tap Revenge: Coldplay Edition. Why 302,000? That’s the number of singles sold of Viva La Vida in 3 days in the UK alone, prompting BBC to call it ”one of the fastest-selling records in UK history.”

Grand prize. The Grand Prize winner will win a pair of front row tickets to any concert in Coldplay’s Viva La Vida Tour this summer, and an autographed copy of the Viva la Vida/Prospekt’s March album (some exclusions may apply). On top of that – five runner up winners will get signed copies of Viva la Vida/Prospekt’s March album. To be in the running, each qualifying score you submit above 302,000 points is added to your virtual contest bucket. At the conclusion of the contest we will take the top 500 players with the most points in their bucket and draw the Grand Prize and the five runner up winners.

These skill contests officially begin on April 6th at 11:59 pm, Pacific Daylight Time, and runs until May 6th at 11:59 pm, Pacific Daylight Time. All scores must be submitted to the global leaderboard while online, through Tap Tap Revenge: Coldplay Edition.

  1. Soo Great, will buy it for sure but … one question Ed.
When it will come to Europe Store (France) ?
Because it’s only available in the US Store . :(

  2. Okay, it’s out in France !
    Gonna tap tap !
Thank you for what you are doing!

  3. Yep, worldwide :)

  4. Great Game. First one I have actually bought (because miraculously i had an itunes gift card on hand). Will not be the last. Question about the contest, is the contest for just the song in TTR2 or all the songs in the TTR Coldplay Edition? Again Great Game and thanks to Tapulous for all your hard work.

On another note however I have noticed that the winners for the past week’s Iration contest have not been announced. Will they be announced in the near future?

  5. Tap Tap Revenge Coldplay is a must have game !
    This is so great !
Thanks you so much guys, love it!

  6. WILL YOU PLEASE SHIFT FOCUS TO TWINKLE?!?!

  7. Awesome, I frickin love Coldplay!! Cant wait to try this out.

I have a question on the daily contest: Will one entry of 302k get into the contest for the entire month, or are the closest to 302k new daily scores entered every day?

  8. Hi, I was wondering if all I had to do to get the contest entries was to have a tapulous account. Do the entries automatically go through? I have the program set to auto upload scores online. Thanks!

    Where are the Iration winners???

  11. this game looks awesome, too bad I don’t have a credit card to buy. D:

this game also looks alot like Beatmania IIDX by just looking at the screenshots. That means a pwnage combination with TTR

I won’t be picking this up, not fond of Coldplay at all. I attempted to listen to them but just couldn’t get into them.

  13. Playing the game is much better than just listening to them. I’m not really a fan of Coldplay either, but I got the game and enjoy playing every song. The change from orbs to lines also adds a whole new level to the TTR experience.

Well well well, i don’t like that much the band, they’re good, but not my favourite… but WHAT A GREAT JOB YOU DID THERE… exelent themes, great gameplay, GREAT…
well, you missed square one and talk… that would made the game perfect (those are the only coldplay songs that i really like)

CONGRATS to the ones who made the promo video, is excelent…

and wath about a Tap Tap Radiohead, or a Tap Tap Muse

  16. As I posted on another blog, Tapulous has a hard time including everyone’s favorites. It takes to to create the taps and it takes time to get licensing rights from the rocord labels. Most ttr players have vast and varied likes and dislikes. This is a worldwide game so they are trying to get a little bit for everyone. I personally would like a couple rap songs, but you don’t see me complaining about it every time I get a chance.

  17. Woooo…. 17th on yellow!!!

Can A Member of Tapulous Please Confirm im 17th?

My Account name is MrMonopoly and my email is the same as what i put in the bar. Please email me the answer. Ty

  18. it’s just a high score…
don’t get your panties in a bunch.

  19. The highest score I’ve gotten is 202,000 and that was me frantically tapping almost bar I could! I don’t understand how people have scores of like 600,000! Are they cheating somehow!?

Judging from the screenshots, the game’s graphics look pretty darn good.

  21. Wait.. Ive gotten 340,000 on easy mode. Do i qualify for the contest throughout the WHOLE month?

  22. I absolutely love the game but i want to make a few suggestions. Could you more tracks such as:
    42
    Violet Hill
    Glass of Water
    Cemeteries of London
    Talk
And one that’s probably never going to come:online play for taptap coldplay addition

  23. As previous people have asked I’m also asking if you have to have a score of 302k every day or just for the month because today i got 302k on lost! on extreme and I’m wondering if I have to do it again each day to enter.

  24. The game is great, as usual, but I would really like some clarification on the contest. Why are you guys using target scores? It doesn’t seem right that I should intentionally miss bars to keep my score close to 302,000.

  25. Brock – Any qualifying score you submit gets you in for the duration of the contest.

jake – It’s all about strategy. Remember, all your high scores above 302,000 points counts in your bucket for the grand prize.

Omg please we need tap tap: all-American rejects!!!!

Pleeeeeeeease? LOL I’m sure it will get #1 on the app store the first day.

  27. So, just another clarification question for the contest- If I get a score of exactly 302,000 or even 302,010 for a song, will it be in the 100 scores drawn each day for the whole month (unless of course it gets undercut by another score)?

Also, if I get 302,000 in multiple songs or on the same song multiple times will I get multiple entries in the contests?

    Thanks, Alec

  28. Iwas wondering when winners will be annouced for daily prizes.

I don’t get the contest mehtod… i have to reach 302,000 in any song on TTC???
cause i don’t know what i have to do really jejejeje… just a little confuse

  30. Brock – Winners are posted in the Tap Tap Revenge 2 feed, or on the blog here – http://tapulous.com/blog/2009/04/coldplay-contest-winners/

Albert007 – Yes, and track in Tap Tap Revenge: Coldplay Edition – so you’d have to strategically play the track to get as close as you can to the target score.

  31. If you win the contest, where do you get the albums?

  32. We’ll mail them to you.

Add your two cents!
