Tap Tap Revenge 2: The Countdown by Jess

On any given night here at Tapulous HQ, you might find a handful of us hard at work on the next big thing in iPhone games, a couple of us taking a break to play Rock Band on our Wii, and maybe a couple of others figuring out what to feed us all for dinner. It’s a typical Silicon Valley startup scene, made cooler by the fact that we’re busy creating ridiculously addictive and popular music games for a very hot platform, and are surrounded by folks with a passion for music, design, and fun technology! Still, entertaining and exciting as it can be around here, we’re usually in the office.
Last night, however, we took a break from all the furious typing and whiteboard scribbling, put down our plastic toy instruments, and forewent the pizza delivery. Instead, the whole of Tapulous, and a couple hundred of our closest friends and biggest fans and supporters, went out on the town to see one of our favorite bands, Stroke 9, perform live at the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco. It was a great concert, full of energy and good vibes, and was a fantastic way to blow off some steam and celebrate finishing up one of our biggest and best products to-date: Tap Tap Revenge 2!

Perhaps the best part of all was getting to hear a live rendition of what we at Tapulous consider to be our very own anthem: Tap Tap DomiNation. Some folks around here — I won’t name names — have ”tested” that track so many times in Tap Tap Revenge 2 that they were actually seen tapping, in the air, along to the song last night! We can’t wait to have the game out, and in your hands, so that you can enjoy playing along to the straight-ahead upbeat rock sounds of Stroke 9 as much as we do! In the meantime, you can buy the track in the iTunes Music Store!

My expectations of the game seem quite minuscule compared to what you just showed me in the video.
150+ songs. Wow. I’m gonna be playing for a long time.
I can’t wait until it comes out! I have my fingers crossed for Thursday at the latest. I don’t think I’d be able to wait much longer…LOL.

agree with raul. my expectations may not have even been expectations with what i saw. IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE TEASER, WATCH IT. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. you might as well put Tapulous at the top of your “getting more than you expected from a good company” list, cause of all the ones i can think of, this one delivers more than the rest

I know this might be too late to modify but…
THE POINT COUNTER AT THE TOP LOOKS SOOO UGLY….
PLEASE, I BEG YOU, change it back, it does not blend well with background.
This is the same issue I have with Tap Tap Dance. The point counter is too bolded, ugly, and doesn’t fit well with the background.

mackie01, I’ve known about Tap Maker for a while but I am not sure if it is going to be compatible with this new version as it is using a new graphics engine. Are you sure it is going to be compatible with the new release mackie01?

I like the new interface, it looks sooo good.

I’m not sure about tap maker working on TTR2, but what I’m going to do is download TTR2 and play the songs on it but I’m going to still play TTR1 more, that way I still get to play my own songs.

Will there be a way to find people to play on that online mode (the part where it says “Sorry”), or do you have to get your friends to install it and add them manually?

I would think it would use your Tapulous friends list, because that’s really the only way I see that happening, if, there was matchmaking.
I would imagine it would stay the same, just go to a room and wait to start a game.
But I don’t know for sure.

The Taptap domination song is really great. Just bought it, too bad it last only 2mins.
TTR2 will be awesome, and i hope we won’t have to download all songs because internet connexion in Tahiti is very slow..

Will all the downloaded songs on TTR1 be compatible with TTR2? I love playing Troublemaker by Weezer and Never Miss A Beat by Kaiser Chiefs and would hate to lose them by upgrading to TTR2!

i have a feeling apple has to test every song of the 150 stated available for download for explict content or such. Or maybe they are haveing a debate on whether or not it is ok to have so much licenced content. or maybe they are too addicted to it
When was this submitted?
The reported time frame for approval (-weekends) is 8 hrs (no) to 1 month ( :O ). I think the average time is like 2 days to a week.
So if this was submitted feb 27, we should get it by friday, though wednesday seems the most probable.
