Meet Tap Tap Revenge, The Next Generation by Bart

UPDATE: Amazing press coverage and a ton of buzz today! Here are some of our favorites: The Apple Blog, LA Times, BoingBoing Offworld, Hollywood Reporter, Forbes, Billboard, USA Today, AFP, Silicon Alley Insider, Pocketgamer, NME.com, Pitchfork Media, Techcrunch, Washington Post, Gizmodo, IGN, VentureBeat, Pollstar, MocoNews.net and the BBC.

Apple just announced that Tap Tap Revenge has been the #1 game on the App Store for 2008, so what better way to celebrate then by launching the next-generation Tap Tap Revenge experience?

We are delighted to introduce Tap Tap Dance and Christmas With Weezer.

Tap Tap Dance is on sale now on the App Store. The game features everything you love about Tap Tap Revenge, and a lot more. Tap and hold, multi-tap, an all-new look that takes full advantage of OpenGL, three amazing “boss tracks” with a customized experience that will suck you in, and ten awesome tracks by the hottest dance artists around. Check out the video, read Mark’s announcement, then head over to the App Store and grab your copy!

Christmas With Weezer will go on sale in the next couple of days. It shares the same next-generation gaming engine with Tap Tap Dance, but is especially made for the whole family to enjoy this holiday season, with a fun new Kids mode and a festive look and feel. Best of all, Weezer recorded six original covers of Christmas classics exclusively for this game, marking the first time a top band has recorded music just for an iPhone game. Check out the screenshots here, then add yourself to our mailing list and you’ll be the first to know when the app goes on sale in a couple of days!

Now excuse us as we take a couple of days to catch up on sleep, get those much coveted scores of 500,000+ on the Justice boss track, and then get back to work on rolling all this hot new technology into Tap Tap Revenge II (still free, coming in early 2009).

  4. I am really excited for Tap Tap Revenge II; it’s going to be awesome.

I love Weezer, but hate Christmas songs so I won’t be getting that… I do however thing it’s a huge step for Tapulous to get such a world wide name to record new covers… just for their application. Amazing job with that. I want to buy Tap Tap Dance, but I am not a fan of DJ/Club music either… but man-o-man do I want to try out the new generation system! heh

Tapulous and Ngmoco Inc are totally leading the way in the iPhone gaming market if you ask me. Love it.

  5. Sorry Tapulous, love the app, but what’s the point of reposting the video on this post and adding a link to see it on YouTube on the phrase that Apple announced TTR is the #1 game, which has nothing to do with TTD?

  6. I love the new game! Any chance of a Tap Tap Dance desktop background to go with the TTR one? :)

  7. Good idea Mike, give us a few days!

  8. Neither of these are as exciting as Tap Tap NIN, at least not for me, but they’re still really cool – love this series, keep up the good work.

  9. You guys seriously rule, these products are awesome, especially the Dance version. Let’s just say you guys will be getting a great deal of my $$$ this holiday season… I kindof want the whole family!

Will the weezer Christmas app be gone after the holidays? Just wondering.

  11. Love the app and dunno if you noticed but BBC called it Dance Dance Revenge. I don’t think they were well informed
